Anonymous L

Without a stable place to live, he carried a sharpie, a switchblade, a spare outfit, and an empty wallet.

Often when young people become homeless, it’s because they are forced to leave an unsafe situation. And they leave carrying little to nothing. “L” did everything in his power to maintain a safe living environment. He had been going from place to place when he heard about Safe Horizon’s Streetwork Project – a place where young people experiencing homelessness can find resources and judgment-free support. When “L” arrived, the staff offered him a locker to store his things. He took out everything he had: a sharpie, a switchblade, a spare outfit, and an empty wallet.

Streetwork Project offers hot meals, showers, and survival supplies. We provide a community where survivors can find access to resources such as medical care, housing vouchers, job searching support, access to benefits and identification documents, and so much more.
