The families that Safe Horizon serves through our program offices, drop-in centers, and shelters often need essential, basic items. Your generous support of Safe Horizon through a donation of material goods and products can help a family recover from violence and abuse sooner and help them find their independence.

Below please see our guidelines for accepting new and/or used materials, along with our Donation Form to use when sending in your items. 

Items We Accept Any Time of Year

New items

Store gift cards (such as Target, Wal-Mart, BJs, Sears, Old Navy, etc.)
Universal gift cards (such as MasterCard, Visa, American Express, etc.)
Diapers, pacifiers, infant and children’s toys
Educational electronic games
Bedding
School and art supplies
Clothing

Used items

Books and magazines
Toys (plastic or metal only)

New or used items

Computers, printers, cameras (please provide make and model numbers - see form)
Cell phones
DVD movies
Office furniture
Jewelry
Handbags and bookbags

Items We Will Sometimes Accept

Used clothing
Used bedding
Canned goods

Items We Cannot Accept

Used stuffed animal toys or toys made from fabrics
Used shoes
Used toiletries and/or makeup
Used undergarments
CRT (tube) televisions

Picking Up Materials Donations

Unfortunately, we are typically unable to pick up donations unless it is a large donation of equipment or office furniture. For information regarding how to deliver your donation to Safe Horizon, please contact us at 212.577.3888 or fundraising@safehorizon.org.

Seasonal/Holiday Donations

We accept seasonal donations but ask that products/goods are donated during the season for which they are most appropriate. For donations during the major holiday season, please send in your donation(s) by December 15, which will allow us time to process your gift and to distribute materials to our shelters, children’s and homeless youth centers, and other program locations.

Goods and Products Donation Form

To receive proper recognition for your donation, please fill out, print, and send our Materials Donation form along with your donation. Please note that the form is not a tax receipt; we will send a letter acknowledging your gift that you may retain for your tax records.

Print the Donation form by clicking either Word or PDF. Please send this form in with your donation using the address provided. Please mark your donation with your name.
