Dean is walking across nine states with a purpose behind every step: raising awareness of domestic violence and supporting survivors. Beginning his journey on the cusp of October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Dean is using his voice and determination to make a difference.
Undertaking this journey of over 1,500 miles on the ground, he is committed to raising $15,000 to help survivors rebuild their lives and remind them that they are not alone. Every mile he walks represents hope, strength, and a commitment to creating change.
About Safe Horizon and the Impact of Your Fundraising:
Safe Horizon provides critical services to survivors of domestic violence, including hotline support, emergency shelter placement, legal assistance, referrals, and case management. Dean’s fundraising efforts will support Safe Horizon’s Domestic Violence Shelter Program, which operates eight shelters across New York City, providing safe housing and essential resources to survivors and their families.
Each year, these shelters serve approximately 2,000 residents and their children. Donations help support essential needs, including emergency supplies, children’s activities, counseling, vocational assistance, and family services. Every dollar raised helps strengthen the support available to survivors as they work toward safety, stability, and a brighter future.
