Anonymous C

When she escaped her trafficker, all she had was the $15 in her pocket.

Human trafficking can happen to anyone, in any part of the world. After being trafficked, a person’s things – identification documents, personal items, even clothing – are often taken away and withheld from them. It’s no surprise that if they are able to escape, they are often forced to leave with nothing. “C” came to Safe Horizon, carrying just $15 in their pocket when they made a run for it. Safe Horizon’s Anti-Trafficking Program provides client-centered, culturally sensitive social and legal services to children and adults regardless of their immigration status. When she escaped her trafficker, all she had was the $15 in her pocket.
