Survivors deserve better and safer systems.
Our Integrative Justice Programs take a holistic approach in order to support survivors within police precincts, family courts, and criminal courts. We provide information about rights, explore safety options and resources, advocate beside clients within the criminal and civil justice systems as well as with housing and public benefits, provide information about and assistance with court ordered restitution, and offer court-based childcare.
Our Integrative Justice Programs include:
Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP)
Advocates contact victims of domestic violence or other crimes who have made a police report, offering support, safety planning, advocacy and referrals. Advocates also help people who walk into a police precinct seeking help for violence, abuse, or exploitation.
Family Courts
Our Family Court Reception Centers across the city provide safe, supportive spaces to help survivors navigate Family Court cases, meet with a case manager, and learn about available resources and services, including help obtaining an order of protection.
Criminal Courts
In our Court-based Reception Centers, survivors and witnesses in Criminal Court cases have a safe space to wait, meet with a case manager, and access services—including information about the criminal justice process and advocacy with the District Attorney’s office and court staff.
Domestic Violence Law Project
Our attorneys represent and advise survivors of domestic abuse in cases involving custody, visitation, divorce, orders of protection, and child support.
Children’s Centers
Our caring staff provide daycare, education, and snacks for children under 12 whose parents or caregivers are involved in court proceedings.
Family Justice Center
At the Manhattan Family Justice Center, we serve walk-in survivors of domestic and gender-based violence and their children, providing access to case management, economic empowerment, counseling, and both civil and criminal legal assistance.
Restitution
We are the designated agency for the collection and disbursement of restitution payments ordered by some courts in New York City. Click here for more information.
Supervised Visitation
We facilitate safe, on-site, court-ordered supervised visitation for children and non-custodial parents.
