We work at the local, state, and federal levels to build paths for survivors so they can seek the safety, justice, and healing that is right for them.
We advocate for funding for programs, housing, and services that help individuals, families, and communities get the care they need in the aftermath of violence or abuse. We also support important legislation to create broader options for healing. This expands our idea of justice for survivors to include access to life-saving services to help them build new lives.

To do that, we’re sending a message to our nation’s leadership that life-saving services for victims must be protected, and that survivors will not be silenced.
Adult Survivors Act
Between 2022 and 2023, the Adult Survivors Act extended the statute of limitations for sexual assault cases, giving survivors the time they need to seek justice. Because healing from trauma takes time.
Child Victims Act
Until January 2019, New York State had one of the nation’s most restrictive statute of limitations when it came to bringing forward child sexual abuse cases in civil or criminal courts. Most survivors had only until age 23 to seek justice in the courts.
The Child Victims Act (CVA) extended the statute of limitations for adult survivors of child sexual abuse, giving survivors of child sexual abuse more time to seek justice in our courts.
