The Annual Gladys Ricard & Victims of Domestic Violence Memorial Walk/Brides’ March is a yearly march to raise awareness of domestic violence in New York City. The walk is in honor of Gladys Ricart, who was murdered on the day of her wedding by an abusive ex-boyfriend.
Participants march in wedding dresses to pay tribute to Ricart and to all victims and survivors. Join Safe Horizon by marching in solidarity with survivors on Saturday, September 26th.
To march with Safe Horizon, meet at 8 A.M. at the Holyrood Episcopal Church/Iglesia Santa Cruz at 715 W 179th Street and Fort Washington Avenue or any part of the route. Contact Carlos.Rosario@safehorizon.org for more info.
