Description:
Web Developer provides support to Development (fund rasing) team and other internal departments. Web Developer maintains and enchances external and internal websites.This position plays a key role by creating user friendly websites and navigation tools.

This is a great opportunity for an entry level developer. This is a full time position, no telecommuting


Responsibilities:• Manage the websites - build and maintain web pages for Safe Horizon's main site (www.safehorizon.org), plus subsidiary sites
• Research, recommend, and implement application tools for the website, emails, Intranet, ecommerce, social network sites, site search use, etc.
• Ensure pages/forms are consistently coded for Google Analytics and Ad words use; liaison with Google Ad words consultant
• Produce standards compliant HTML/CSS coding for web pages
• Help produce and send monthly e-newsletters and HTML emails for both external and internal audiences
• Develop new web applications, including forms, as identified by management through packaged and customized applications
• Maintain and enhance existing web applications and all internal systems are integrated.
• Perform complete testing of web applications–unit and system, engaging users as necessary
• Conduct all user acceptance testing, and report results
• Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
• Manage Salsa and keep updated on developments of the donor software
• Edit video for posting to the website; create and develop Flash movies (useful but not essential)
• Design and prepare materials for print production: brochures, posters, programs for fundraising events
• Maintain style sheets for consistency and ease of editing
• Provide regular reports on website usage
• Test cross-browser use and ensure site is compatible
• Design banners, buttons, and mastheads
• Communicate timeframes for projects and provide progress information
• Maintain consistent webpage naming for best SEO (search engine optimization) results
• Possess demonstrated work experience with at least one relational database management system
• Provide assistance for IT and HR web-based projects as needed
• Complete other duties as assigned and appropriate
• Troubleshoot Internet and Intranet issues as they arise

Qualifications:• Must have: HTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS, PHP, Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
• MySQL and Flash skills helpful
• Experience with Salsa or with other online donation management software
• Ability to meet deadlines and well-organized
• Graphic design background
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple demands
• Work well independently as well as in a collaborative team-oriented environment
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of two years of web development experience
