Description:The Safe Horizon Counseling Center is the only NYS Article 31, licensed mental health clinic specializing in trauma-focused treatment of survivors of interpersonal violence and other crimes. Our referrals come from community agencies and our own programs such as Anti-human trafficking. SHCC is currently looking for LMSW’s and LCSW’s to provide fee-for-service treatment in our downtown Brooklyn clinic. Our rates are highly competitive, and we offer a unique opportunity for clinicians who are interested in developing a specialty in evidence-based trauma-focused treatment. Spanish-speaking applicants welcome.

Responsibilities:• Demonstrating exceptional engagement skills and clinical expertise in the provision of trauma-focused mental health treatment to target client population in crisis;
• Providing time-limited, evidence-based trauma-focused individual treatment to center client of all ages.
• Participating in weekly supervision and treatment planning meetings;
• Timely documentation of all case activities in accordance with Safe Horizon and OMH regulations;
• Performing other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:• Masters in Social Work, Clinical Licensure required.
• Expertise in delivering time-limited, evidence-based mental health treatment approaches that can be utilized with target client population;
• Strong interpersonal skills required; a deep understanding of and commitment to, the mission of Safe Horizon and the target client population.
• A minimum of 16 hours and Saturdays required.


All prospective job candidates must meet screening requirements, which includes a background check, finger printing and State Central Registry clearance.
