• Collaborates with senior management to develop annual strategy and revenue goals for independent fundraising team events, projects and online personal giving pages. • Provides donor relations support to individual, team and corporate fundraisers, and assists in development and execution of their campaigns/events. • Maintains and updates personal and team fundraising website pages as well as the overall online interface for individual/team fundraisers. • Collaborates with Director of Special Events and Chief Development Officer on strategies to reach new individuals, organizations and companies that can support Safe Horizon. • Cultivation and stewardship of community, faith-based, collegiate and other group fundraising and awareness efforts. • Collaborates with Marketing/Communications team to build awareness of grassroots fundraising program through social media channels. • Represents Safe Horizon at select community events (information fairs, fundraisers, etc.). • Assists in organizing donor relations events to cultivate and steward potential and current donors outside of the grassroots fundraising program. • Assists with Junior Leadership Council fundraising efforts. • Provides logistical and other support at individual/team fundraising events and for Safe Horizon initiated events as needed. • Initiates, cultivates, and maintains strong professional relationships with existing and prospective donors, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Coordination of meetings and tours of facilities • Maintaining contact through calls and correspondence • Managing key dates including pledge payments, renewal requests, submission deadlines, etc. • Sending customized gift acknowledgement letters • Setting up individual and team fundraisers in Raiser’s Edge database for tracking and acknowledgement • Updating database records as needed • Conducting donor prospect research Secondary Job Functions: • Volunteering at Safe Horizon sponsored events • Compile and update statistics related to selected programs • Special assignments for Senior Management
• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent relevant experience • 2 years non-profit fundraising experience, grassroots fundraising a plus • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing and diverse environment • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong knowledge of fundraising methods, deadlines, and procedures • Demonstrated ability to meet fundraising targets and deliver projects on time and within budget • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills • Superior editing and proofreading skills • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple, complex tasks, and shifting priorities under tight deadlines • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and conducting web research • Experience in donor databases, Raiser’s Edge preferred Requirements: • Requires regular travel within the five boroughs of New York City and some weekend and evening event attendance.
