Executive Committee


Jeffrey Brodsky Chair

Jeff Brodsky joined the Board in 2012. He is a Senior Advisor at Morgan Stanley where he works directly with senior leaders and the Board of Directors on a range of employee-related matters, including succession planning, compensation, and diversity and inclusion. Jeff also provides coaching to Firm Management and other high-potential leaders across the Firm. In 2011, he was named the Chief Human Resources Officer, and held that position through early 2021. Prior to that, since joining Morgan Stanley in 1987, Jeff led HR for many of the Firm’s businesses including Global Wealth Management, Investment Management, the Corporate functions and Discover (before its spin-off). He serves on the Board of Directors for Accolade and on the Advisory Board for Private Medical is also an executive in residence at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Binghamton University and is married with three sons.

Pamela N. Hootkin Vice Chair

Pamela N. Hootkin joined the Board in 2005. She is a retired financial executive. Until April 2012, she was Senior Vice President, Treasurer, and Investor Relations of Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation. Pamela holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from SUNY Binghamton and a master’s degree in economics from Boston University.

Sonia Sande Vice Chair & Secretary

Sonia Sande joined the Board of Directors of Safe Horizon in 2015. Sonia is a management consultant, currently serving as the Americas Consulting Talent Leader at Ernst & Young, and is a member of the firm’s Inclusiveness Advisory Council. She was recognized with a ‘Women Leaders in Consulting’ achievement award from Consulting Magazine in 2018.

Sonia was born in India, grew up in the UK and studied in the UK and Canada. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from the University of Cambridge. She moved to New York City in 2007 where she lives with her husband Simon and daughter Isabel.

Luke Sarsfield Treasurer

Luke Sarsfield is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors at P10 Holdings.

Prior to joining P10, Mr. Sarsfield worked at Goldman Sachs for over 23 years, where he held numerous senior leadership roles in asset management, including: Global Co-Head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Chief Commercial Officer of Asset and Wealth Management, and Global Co-Head of the Client Business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Previously, Mr. Sarsfield was a senior leader in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division, where he served as Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group, Global Chief Operating Officer of Investment Banking, and Co-Head of the Healthcare Group in the Americas. Additionally, he served as a member of the firm’s Management Committee and Partnership Committee.

Mr. Sarsfield currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Montclair Kimberley Academy and Treasurer of the Board of Safe Horizon, the largest victim services agency in the United States. Mr. Sarsfield earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA, magna cum laude, from Harvard College. He lives in New York City with his wife and two children.

Samantha Saperstein

Samantha Saperstein joined the Board in 2013. She is Managing Director and Head of Women on the Move at JPMorgan. Sam is an active supporter of women’s advancement in the workplace, mentoring women across the company and working on programs that promote the successful retention, development, and advancement of women at all levels. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mark C. Smith

Mark C. Smith joined the Board in 2013. He is Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo. Mark has been recognized by Forbes as Top Next Gen Financial Advisor. He appears frequently on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg to provide market and economic commentary.  Mark currently sits on the Executive Board of the President’s Council for Fordham University, and also serves on their Athletic Advisory Board. Politically, he was notably on the national finance committee for President Obama.

Harry Brigham

Harry Brigham joined the Board in 2023. Currently the owner of CORCL Boats, Harry is a former Naval Officer with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Tufts University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Harry has over 30 years of operations and logistics experience as a management consultant, investor, and entrepreneur. He currently serves on the Boards of Hudson Guild and Hudson River Community Sailing. Harry lives in NYC with his wife, Carter, and has two sons.

Dana Codispoti

Dana Codispoti joined the board in 2023. She is a cutting edge, global HR Executive with 20+ years of experience across multiple industries and geographies. Dana most recently served as Transformation Lead and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for HR at AIG. Prior to AIG she held senior level positions at BNY Mellon, Morgan Stanley and PwC, both domestic and abroad. Dana earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Lehigh University and an MBA at the University of Georgia.

Megan Driscoll

Megan Driscoll joined the Board in 2022. She is currently CEO and Founder at EvolveMKD, an award-winning public relations and digital marketing agency based in New York City. Megan was previously President at Behrman Communications and has held senior positions at Emanate PR, Lippe Taylor, Fleishman Hillard, and Euro RSCG Life. She has been featured on Crain’s 2021 New York Notable Women Business Owners List, PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 List, and was honored as one of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2018. She has 20 years of experience working with brands in the healthcare, prestige beauty, and lifestyle industries. Megan holds a bachelor's degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

Joe Falencki

Joe Falencki joined the Board in 2016 and is the current chair of the Investment Committee. He previously served as Chair of Safe Horizon’s Leaders on the Horizon council from 2015-2016. Joe is currently the Chief People Officer at Veterinary Emergency Group, after previously serving in multiple HR capacities at Morgan Stanley for 18 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University. Joe lives in Connecticut with his wife Jessica, 3 kids and 2 dogs.

Mark Freedman

Mark Freedman joined the Board in 2016. He is a Partner at Wellspring Consulting, focused on non-profit strategy and organization. Mark was previously a Partner and Senior Advisor at Dalberg Advisors in New York City, following 25+ years at the Boston Consulting Group in New York and Paris, where he was a Senior Partner. He began his career working with Save the Children US in sub-Saharan Africa and currently serves on the Corporate Advisory Board. Mark holds a master’s degree in business administration with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was designated a Baker Scholar. He also holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University, with a concentration in economic and political development.

Jim Fulton

Jim Fulton joined the Board in 2021. He is a Partner at international law firm Cooley LLP where he focuses on representing both emerging and established technology, healthcare, and biotechnology companies and the venture capital firms that invest in those companies. Concentrating in corporate and securities law, Jim counsels companies throughout their lifecycle on matters ranging from company formations, private financings, employee equity incentives, and executive hiring, to complex spinouts, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and SEC reporting and compliance. Prior to joining Cooley, Jim was a senior budget analyst with the US government's Office of Personnel Management. Jim holds a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, and holds a bachelor's degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, graduating cum laude.

Paul Germain

Paul Germain joined the Board in 2010. He is currently the President of Stone Ridge Asset Management. Paul previously served as Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, and currently sits on the Parents Leadership Board at Emory University. He holds a master’s in business administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Veronica Gontier

Veronica Gontier joined the board in 2023. She is a Fortune 100, C-Level Growth Executive and Chief Marketing Officer. Veronica is an agile trailblazer who guides innovative emerging companies to scale for global growth and steers revitalization strategies for iconic brands. Veronica most recently served as the Managing Vice President of Marketing, Card Site & Analytics for the US Credit Card Business at Capital One. Veronica previously led Marketing and Customer Analytics at Macy’s, Tory Burch, and SoulCycle. A graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Veronica holds a bachelor's degree in Finance and Marketing.

Umar Haider

Umar Haider joined the Board in 2021. He is a Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Umar is a leader within the Consumer Practice focused on strategy, growth, and commercial topics with Consumer Goods clients. He is also responsible for recruiting within the BCG New York office. Prior to joining BCG, Umar worked at PepsiCo International for 4 years. He holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College where he majored in history. Umar lives in New York City with his wife Judith and two sons.

Adam Kudelka

Adam Kudelka is the Managing Director and Global Head of Rewards for Morgan Stanley. In his current role, Adam oversees the design and implementation of Firm compensation programs including Executive Compensation, Corporate/business unit compensation and Employee Benefits. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1999 and spent the majority of his career in Human Resources, including his role as the Head of Human Resources for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Wealth Management business, and the Head of Sales Strategy and Relationship Management within the MSWM Investment Solutions division. Adam earned a Bachelor of Science from Binghamton University. He formerly served as a board member for the New York Center for Children and resides in New York City with his wife and two children.

Joann Lang

Joann Lang joined the Board in 1997. Together with Safe Horizon, she founded one of our domestic violence shelters, Lang House. Joann served on the Board of Jewish Homes and Hospitals for 30 years and was a member of the Resident Care Committee. Joann holds a bachelor's degree from Bard College and a master’s degree in social work from New York University.

Mary Beth Marshall

Mary Beth Marshall joined the Board in 2021. She was formerly a litigation partner at Decker, Hardt in Dallas, Texas, and currently serves as Of Counsel to Safe Horizon. She holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Texas in Austin, a juris doctorate as well as a master's degree of liberal arts with a concentration in art history and philosophy from Southern Methodist University, and an associate's degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Bleu.

Jo Natauri

Jo Natauri joined the Board in 2018. She is a former partner in the Merchant Banking Division (MBD) at Goldman Sachs. Previously, she worked in the Consumer Retail and Healthcare Group in the Investment Banking Division, responsible for coverage of large, multinational companies across the healthcare and consumer sectors. Jo served on the Partnership Committee and MBD Corporate Investment Committee. She joined Goldman Sachs in 2006 as a vice president and was named managing director in 2008 and partner in 2012. Prior to joining the firm, Jo was an investment banker at Deutsche Bank. She has been covering companies and executing transactions for more than 20 years. Jo holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Biology from the University of Virginia.

Susan Reid

Susan Reid joined the Board in 2022. She is currently Morgan Stanley's Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion where she mentors employees, creates spaces for difficult conversations, and engages with firm leaders and community partners to prioritize diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Susan has years of experience in Human Resources and Recruitment and has previously held senior positions at Marsh and McLennan, Donnelley, Bell Atlantic (Verizon), and NYU. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from New York University.

John Romeo

John Romeo joined the Board in 2016. He is Managing Partner and Head of the Oliver Wyman Forum, and a member of the Executive Committee. John has a special interest in and focus on inclusion. He is Chairman of the firm’s Inclusion and Diversity Council, an author of Oliver Wyman’s “Women in Financial Services” Report, and a proud ally and champion for LGBT+ issues. John holds a master’s degree in economics from Cambridge University where he was a Senior Scholar.

Dr. Ovita Williams

Dr. Ovita Williams joined the Board in 2022. She is a Lecturer in Discipline and the Executive Director at the Action Lab for Social Justice in the Columbia University School of Social Work. Dr. Williams has previously served as Associate Director of Field Education Columbia University School of Social Work, Director of Clinical Services in the Counseling Services Unit at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, and co-authored ‘Learning to teach, teaching to learn: A guide for social work field education. She has developed and facilitated interactive workshops for social workers, managers, and various practitioners on facilitating challenging dialogues around racism, class, gender, sexual orientation, and intersecting identities. At Columbia, Dr. Williams has worked with students, alumni, faculty, and administrators on the development of the foundations' course, “Decolonizing Social Work”, through a power, race, oppression, and privilege framework. The course centers on undoing anti-Black racism and dismantling white supremacy culture. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College, an MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work, and a Ph.D. from Silberman School of Social Welfare.

James Hendricks

On September 18, 2022, James Hendricks unexpectedly passed on. We are saddened by this tragic loss and honor his memory.

Hendricks joined the Board in 2016. He was Group Vice President Human Resources & Administration at Charter Communications/Spectrum Reach. With more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience, James had a career background that involved extensive collaboration with executive leadership as a trusted advisor in achieving current and future business goals. He held a master’s degree in business administration and dual bachelor’s degrees in business management and psychology from Case Western Reserve University.
