In light of recent anti-gay attacks in the city, The New York Times speaks to several gay and lesbian residents in the Bronx community who feel they might be in danger for being openly gay. Although the city has been viewed as a refuge for the gay community, recent news accounts have many worrying for their safety.  The article references our Streetwork program, which serves about 1,700 homeless youth each year and in which 40% of youth identify themselves as being gay or transgender.
