Council Member and New York State Senator-Elect Tony Avella has donated 15 cell phones used during his successful Senate campaign to Safe Horizon, who will provide them to victims of domestic violence.
Senator-Elect Avella personally presented the cell phones to Safe Horizon CEO Ariel Zwang on December 15 and recognized the important work being done on behalf of victims of crime and abuse in New York City.
“For so many of the victims we serve, it is so critical to be connected to emergency help at all times”, said Ms. Zwang. “[Senator-Elect Avella's] generous donation will help our clients feel assured that an immediate police response is just a phone call away.”
