Safe Horizon's Chief Program Officer Liz Roberts and Senior Vice President of Domestic Violence Programs Nathaniel Fields presented "Client-Centered Safety Assessment and Risk Management" during the week of March 1, at the 2nd World Conference of Women's Shelters (WCWS) in Washington D.C., continuing the global momentum to address violence against women and cross-country collaboration that is required to address victims’ safety and rights world-wide.
The presentation was well received by a packed room of shelter advocates and grassroots activists from around the globe working to end violence against women to discuss how they can support and learn from each other.
President Clinton and Reese Witherspoon, Global Ambassador for Avon’s efforts to help victims of domestic violence, also attended and spoke at the conference.
Unlike many other conferences, WCWS is a peer-to-peer conference, specifically for women and men who work directly with and provide services to victims of violence.
