New York, New York, May 20, 2009 – Safe Horizon Mediation Program is offering upcoming mediation training to working professionals May 29-30 and June 5-6, 2009. The new four-day course is designed specifically for working professionals who would like to acquire mediation and conflict resolution skills. Safe Horizon trains mediators from a broad array of occupations, including attorneys, educators, managers, human resources executives, healthcare personnel, and international peacemakers. The course is taught by distinguished faculty who practice what they teach.
Safe Horizon Mediation Program has a 25 year history of helping New Yorkers peacefully resolve disputes involving issues such as harassment, custody and visitation, elder care, school, consumer, workplace, and housing. Mediation is an effective alternative to expensive and time-consuming litigation.
Mediation skills enhance the effectiveness of professionals working in a variety of fields. “Approximately 80% of the people who choose to mediate a dispute report they are satisfied with the outcome. The mediators report a high degree of satisfaction as well,” says Alan Gross, Special Projects Coordinator for the Safe Horizon Mediation Program. U.S. News and World Report recently named mediation one of the top careers of 2009.
The training will take place at the Safe Horizon Training Center, located at 50 Court Street on the 8th Floor in Brooklyn, NY, and will cost $1175, with special non-profit and group discounts.
