Junior Council Coat Drive for Streetwork Project
Safe Horizon’s Junior Council hosted a Winter Warm Clothing and Coat Drive on Thursday, January 11th at downtown club, Marquee. From 8-11pm, over 650 guests enjoyed an open bar, live music and danced the night away as they celebrated the work of Safe Horizon and the Junior Council. Admission was an article of gently worn warm clothing, a coat, or a minimum donation of $30.
The event raised $3,000 and hundreds of coats, sweaters, scarves and other warm clothing that will benefit Safe Horizon’s Streetwork program, a refuge where homeless and street-involved young people—who spend so much of their lives in danger—can feel safe, empowered, cared for and encouraged. One by one, our dedicated staff offers food and shelter, counseling and many other services to meet their complex and unique needs.
