Our children’s centers provide warm, safe, child-friendly environments at courthouses where children can learn and play while their parents deal with cases of domestic violence, abuse, and other issues. Each year, Safe Horizon reaches more than 19,000 homeless youth. These older children live on the streets, away from home and school, and in need of education if they are to have a chance at a normal, self-sufficient life. Our resource centers for youth help them find shelter and resources -- from eating a hot meal to preparing for the GED exams. We give them refuge and rescue.

Charity Navigator

We are not listed on Charity Navigator because they only rate 5,000 charities out of an estimated 1.5 million charities in the U.S., and they do not at this time accept more charities.  Although Safe Horizon is now celebrating 35 years of exemplary service, we are still not listed on their site.  We do follow financial best practices for charities as you can see on Guidestar and also by our BBB rating.

Safe Horizon's mission is to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.
