NFL Player William Gay Honored At Safe Horizon's Annual Gala Awards Dinner, Marking Victims' Service Organization's 35th Anniversary
May 6, 2013 (New York, NY) – Safe Horizon, the largest victim service provider in New York City and the country, is hosting its 18th Annual Champion Awards Dinner to commemorate 35 years of the organization’s commitment to moving victims from crisis to confidence. The event will honor Pittsburgh Steelers Cornerback William Gay. Other honorees include corporate philanthropists Paul Germain, from Credit Suisse and Michael C. Slocum, from Capital One Bank, and featured speakers including Ariel Zwang, CEO of Safe Horizon, and Amy Granberg, a survivor of child sexual abuse.

Safe Horizon Collaborates with Brooklyn District Attorney to Prevent Domestic Violence Homicides
As part of the Department of Justice’s Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention Demonstration Initiative, announced in March, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office has been granted $200,000 by the Office on Violence Against Women. The grant will be used in collaboration with Safe Horizon to provide case management and advocacy to clients identified as being at high risk of homicide. The first-ever initiative will grant awards to 12 cities and counties totaling $2.3 million.
